There used to be the most soulful Xmas-tree guys who set up on the corner.
Every year they'd drive down from Montreal and set up for a month on the exact same spot.
They'd pass the time when not selling trees by reading or scribbling in a notebook--something you never see the local Xmas tree sellers doing. (I'm not kidding the local dudes are usually staring into space when not selling. Or watching tv on a generator. And their selling space is trashier. Why is that?? Am I just a big snob? Yes, I am.)
