Tonight--a three-layer cake four inches across, dusted with red crumbs. Drifts of cream cheese frosting.
A birthday. Not mine.
And I'm okay with that.
Outside, snow is piling up. Tomorrow we hope the snow will keep us in.
Second day of the year and so much has happened.
Reading a novel that starts in January. A man walks and can't stop walking.
