liquefaction

this robert herrick poem never fails.

Upon Julia's Clothes

Whenas in silks my Julia goes,
Then, then (methinks) how sweetly flows
That liquefaction of her clothes.

Next, when I cast mine eyes, and see
That brave vibration each way free,
O how that glittering taketh me!

all through this middling week, poems have sustained me, and this day it was no different.

why is the word "liquefaction" so amazingly sexy?

why do i only want to eat avacados and fennel?

oh, yeah, and hostess snoballs (the white ones--definitely not the pink)?

and maybe some eggs benedict?

and listen to radiohead?

and read poetry &

watch modern family?

i'm counting the little tasty, sexy, free or cheap and tiny pleasantries of each day--working on making the middle more fun.

also, i'm feeling a great sense of relief today. a problem that plagued me all through the holidays got resolved yesterday. i hadn't realized how it was weighing me down until this morning.

legwear: grey leggings with charcoal knee patches from h&m amsterdam. definitely not age appropriate. student casey wore cute nordic sweater tights with grey knee socks and brown lace up ankle boots today. her clothes are always fun. one of the great things about my job is witnessing the wonderful, creative fashion the youth of today wear to school. i also love watching them make poems and art.

  1. I love this phrase: "little tasty, sexy, free or cheap and tiny pleasantries of each day." I've had a middling week, too, with some difficulty at the end. Going to try and make next week more tasty, free and cheap.

Cheap, sexy, loud. Gets me through every day.
