Swept Away

These are not my photos.  I am unable to tweet my photos from my phone.   (What a terrible sentence.)  The Facebook app wasn't working either.  The above photo was taken by someone else today.  On the way home from work, I stopped at the Museum of Art and Design to watch Joe Magrum construct serpentine designs around the perimeter of the Museum.  He was taken hours and hours to do it--taking his time, making it more complex than it had to be.  But the complexity was beautiful.  Wish I could show you!

People were trodding upon it, oblivious, but that was the idea, built into it.  It was getting messed up before it was even finished, which I loved and I loved that Magrum didn't seem to care.  When you are a sand painter, of course, you don't care--the medium is so ephemeral, which is its beauty, right?

I don't know what I'm getting at, getting to.  All of this seems to be a rather easy metaphor for something.

One thing I think I need to do is let go of the need for perfectionism.  I don't necessarily think of myself that way (as I'm so poorly groomed), but I think that is something that maybe has held me back, kept me from trying.

Inspiration:  Messing up

Looking forward to:  Writing morning pages the same time as Lara on Sunday morning.

Legwear:  Shiny black leggings for the air conditioning in the library.
