i have a crush

on vegetables.

picked this morning.  my beautiful miss chou-chou.
when people ask me what i like to cook, the word "vegetables" always, always comes to mind first.  then i feel embarrassed because i don't know how to explain why, or which vegetables, except to say all of them.

everything.

i love to eat pretty much all kinds of food, from hostess products to high end, but i adore looking  at and working with vegetables the most.

maybe it's the beautiful color palette?  the variegated shades?  the amazing textures and subtle flavors?  the abundance and clarity of the vegetable? the interesting shapes and sizes?

today, and every day for at least the past two years, i've made a commitment in the morning to find something beautiful to love about the day.

this humble & gorgeous cabbage was today's loveliness.

  3. I love how those outer leaves reveal a peek of the bulk of the cabbage like some kind of agricultural striptease.
