Inspired by

Typing lightly, due to carpel tunnel, but wanted to list some things that are inspiring to me right now:

1.  The fact that Maurice Sendak, a poor kid from Brooklyn, said his two main inspirations on his work were the Holocaust and the Lindberg kidnapping. 

2.  The fact that Vidal Sassoon, who grew up in a London orphanage, was inspired by the Bauhaus.

3.  The fact that Carol Lynn Pearson was inspired by the tightness imposed by patriarchy.

4.  Obama's support of same sex marriage.  (I know it's easy to be cynical about this, but isn't it fun FIRST to be positive and celebratory?)

Still collecting . . .and counting the day's 'til Lara's visit.  I think the count now is two.
