stepping on the scale

i'm literally shaking.

i haven't looked at last year's resolutions since. . .

i made them.

it feels like weighing in after thanksgiving.

so here's what i did/didn't do:

music:

did:

*take voice lessons
*sing in church choir

did not:

*rehearse once a week with lalage
*start youtube channel for lalage

poetry:

did:

*continue daily poetic practice

did not:

*finish four windows, publish gentian or physic

health:

did:

*continue yoga practice

did not:

*get outside more, drink more water, limit screen time

screenplay:

did:

*nothing.  although i just came up with my best screenplay idea ever

did not:

*write last year's best two script ideas in the world ever

spiritual:

did:

* judge less

*be more present

did not:

*judge less

* be more present

well.

i have to think about the implications of the did/did not list.

and you?

  1. I find that I make most of my goals at the beginning of the school calendar. Yes, my brain thinks in terms of, well, terms instead of years. So I find myself making more manageable goals and approaching January without fear. I did not get the book contract this term, but I did make a do-able plan for the next 6 months. It feels good. And scary. But good scary.
